First Long Run (over 5 miles)

Today's run was my first over 5 miles in about 15 years. The remnants of Hurricane Katrina reached New York today and for us it meant high humidity. So today's run involved a few water stops along the way. I ran out Davis (.2m) to Old Mamaroneck Road past the Fenway Golf Course, which is the one mile mark for me. Next down to the Heathcote Bypass (1.2m, tot: 1.4m), on the right of way for the old Boston-New York Railroad. I could really feel the humidity as my internal temperature rose and my face was flushed. I walked at about the where Heathcote Road (.8m, tot: 2.2m) passes over the bypass, and again at the turn around at the end of the bypass (.3m, tot: 2.5m) . I ran back through four corners to via Palmer Ave to Secor Rd and to Old Mamaroneck and Soundview (2.0m, tot: 4.5m). made the left onto Soundview when I got back into White Plains. Prescott (.9m, tot: 5.4m) and back to Davis (.3m, tot: 5.7m).
